One of Caitlin's favorite quotes is:

“Love is the motive, but justice is the instrument.” - Reinhold Niebuhr

Caitlin Sweeney earned her B.A. in psychology and political science from the University of New Mexico in 2015. While in undergrad, Caitlin interned with Ready to Run NM, campaign training for women. The Ready to Run program was created by Rutgers University as a nonpartisan program that works to attract women into the political process and encourage them to seek public leadership, providing them with training, networking opportunities, and more. As a young woman interested in working in government and politics to implement change within her community, Caitlin was strongly drawn to working for a program dedicated to women helping women be the change they wished to see.

After receiving her Bachelor's degree, Caitlin pursued her Juris Doctorate at the University of New Mexico School of Law. She earned her J.D. in 2019. While in law school, Caitlin came to understand how much power a single case has in regards to changing the law and precedent, for better or worse. Additionally, Caitlin saw how much power a case has to affect the lives of the individuals involved in a case. Representing clients in the law school clinic and clerking during law school showed Caitlin how much an attorney’s work on a case can impact an individual who had suffered an injustice, and provide them with the help they need when they feel like they have no where else to turn.

Caitlin was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and loves the culture and diversity within the community that is her home. Caitlin feels privileged to be able to work to help the people within her community when they have experienced an injustice, and believes that working to right the wrongs individuals have experienced can build and improve the community as a whole.
